Junior Infants were very excited to welcome five black hairy caterpillars to the classroom. The children were entertained and amused by their chomping and munching. They were delighted when each caterpillar grew big enough to spin a cocoon and hang as a chrysalis and they were absolutely thrilled to witness each chrysalis burst open and a ‘Painted Lady’ butterfly emerge. Immediately after our ‘Minibeast Assembly’ on June 1st we released the butterflies into the ‘Butterfly Garden’, We wish them well!
