Delgany National School is very proud to be a Green School. Green Schools is an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes whole school action towards a sustainable environment.

Last year we were delighted to be chosen as one of twelve schools across the country to participate in a new pilot programme for an 8th flag. The theme explored the marine environment as a whole and looked at topics such as marine litter, climate change, pacific island nations and actions we can undertake to improve the marine environment.  Ms Sweeney, 4th class and the Green School’s Committee put in a lot of work and there was great excitement when we were awarded our 8th Green Flag from An Taisce towards the end of the academic year.

We look forward to another exciting year. Keep up the fantastic work!
