We are delighted to be back in the classroom for the last two weeks of the term. As well as plenty of great learning we enjoyed seeing our friends again. The weather has been kind and we have been able to eat outside most days!

5th class really embraced distance learning over the past few months. They created amazing World War 1 projects which you can view by clicking here. World War 1 was explored in many different ways through art, music, books, story and research on the internet.

The children enjoyed taking part in Engineering week in March. There were plenty of fun activities to make and do such as building bridges, cardboard rovers and astronaut landers. This is a picture of Jessica’s cardboard rover.

As part of maths the children designed some fabulous houses for Ms Besanson and Ms Mulligan. The materials they used were varied from lego, to recycled materials to using minecraft. They had a budget within which they had to build and created some wonderful houses for their teachers. Here is a picture of Finn’s house.

The following week they were tasked with designing a garden pod for Mr Howard. As well as having a budget for this task they also had to think of how items would fit in the pod. Here are some of the lovely items Alannah P included in her POD.

We also celebrated World Book Day from a distance by having a zoom book quiz, based on books we have read in class like Kensuke’s Kingdom, My Teacher’s an Alien, Treachery at Midnight, Grindlewood and Krindlekrax as well as other children’s books. Some of the children designed their own versions of well known books.
